My Happy List

I am joining Ricki Jill Treleaven's My Happy List party.

I received a special treat in the mail. My high school friend Lynn sent me this beautiful scarf she made for me. My favorite color is green so I am especially excited. I love the stitches, and look at that gorgeous wooden button! I have Facebook to thank for putting me back in touch with Lynn a few years ago. I remember going to her house when her neighbor, who was a beautician, gave me my very first hair frosting job. It was the kind of frosting we used to receive by pulling hair through the holes in the cap. Do you remember those? I felt like I was really something afterwards!

She included this sweet card with it. Girlfriends make me so happy!

I am also waiting for two giveaways to arrive from Vickie's Grow Your Blog Party. It was great fun meeting so many bloggers and making new friends. I will show you what I receive in the mail next time!

Look what happened to my side of the home office! Yikes! It all started when I worked on projects for the upcoming baby shower. I purposely took this photo so it would give me incentive to clean it up.

Ahh...now I feel better and it only took a couple hours one evening! My blog helps me to get things done. I cannot function in the kind of mess that I had so I am much happier now. I threw away a huge black garbage bag of stuff and organized things too! Toni from A Bowl Full of Lemons inspires me when it comes to cleaning up the house. As she suggests, I took EVERYTHING out into the foyer and wiped down the desk before bringing anything back in. Only things I use and love came back in.

And finally, speaking of the baby shower, I am so excited about the one Ashleigh and I are hosting for Natasha this weekend! I made so many fun BLUE things for decorations. We will have several special family members from out of town joining us. I have posts planned to show you next week. In the meantime, here's a sneak peek!

What is making you happy these days?

I think the scarf is soooo pretty. I love that huge button, too! It looks like a sweater I loved in Anthropologie last fall....it had a huge button like that! :D

I hope you post about the shower. I love seeing how people entertain!

Thanks so much for linking-up, my dear! You've made me *happy*

  3. It's so fun finding old friends. I love Facebook for that. And, for keeping in touch with old friends, new friends and family. It's an amazing invention. What a sweet gift and card you received. I'm excited to see what you got from the party! I won a few things too. Can't wait to see them in person. :-) Your office looks great. I bet it feels great too. Cleaning up and getting rid of things always make me feel so good.

  10. Love the scarf, Patty, and it's even more special when it comes from a friend.
I can't function in clutter and any unorganized space either. It's funny but I have to clean up before I create and then it gets a little messy but I have to start with an organized area. Always been that way...not into perfectionism or anything, but definitely some order. I think it's part of having administrative gifts too.
From your page, I would have never guessed your favorite color is green.
Your title caught my attention due to the post I shared today. :)
    Let the happiness live on!!
    XOXO's,
    Marcia
