When I was cleaning out my nightstand drawer in my bedroom, I found a little brag book filled with photos of my two children Danny and Ashleigh. Do you remember in the olden days when we had little photo brag books we would take everywhere with us so we could show off our children to our family and friends, or to mere acquaintances? It amazes me when I see people these days huddled around smart phones scrolling through their camera roll accomplishing the same thing. Improved technology really has made things easy for everyone and I really do love the convenience, but I still have an attachment to my little brag book.
For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, I will show you my treasure.
It is interesting that as I look at the pages in this book I notice how my artistic nature came through. I made sure each set of two pages when opened up had a comparison of Danny and Ashleigh doing the same things, such as in this pair of pictures, I was holding each one. Check out the stylish perm from 1986!

| Do you remember the art of Joan Walsh Anglund? I hadn't thought of her in years! |

On another couple pages they were each holding an object,
and here standing with their arms at their sides.
Here are some school pictures that we all have...
and here they are standing up with their hands together with an art object on their left side.
Here they are in the same position by the Christmas tree (I think that CD he is holding had bad words on it).
The first and last pages are of the kids sitting together on benches.
It's interesting how I wanted to merely show you my little book, but as I was writing I discovered something about myself. This is one of the reasons I like to blog. I am grateful for so many things; my family, my artistic nature, and for my little brag book that will remain in my nightstand for when I feel nostalgic.

What beautiful children! Yes, I remember brag books. I had one too - but don't know where it went.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice looking family you have. It's always fun to look back over the years at the way they have grown and changed.
