Preserving the Flowers

I brought some flowers home from Danny and Natasha's wedding. They were so pretty. I wanted to enjoy them while they were fresh but also thought about preserving some of them. I didn't have much time to research how to do it but I did know that you turn them upside down and hang them to dry out.

I read where it says to hang them in a dark place, but I wanted to enjoy them so I hung them on the hall tree in the foyer.

It reminds me of a display you might see in an Anthropologie store. I think their displays (and Arhaus's too) are amazing!

I also pressed a few in books. Don't they look 3D here?

Any ideas for me on what to do with these flowers?

  2. I've pressed flowers before and held on to them for years (unfortunately I accidentally misplaced them ;( Let us know if hanging them upside down helps.

  3. Those are absolutely lovely, Patty, and I have long dreamed of such a hall tree for our foyer too. Our foyer is very small but one piece like this would be just right. Love your new profile pic too.

  4. When my daughter married I did the same thing - hung some of the flowers from her bouquet upside down to dry. I pressed a few as flat as possible then glued them to a 2"x6" card, had it laminated and made a bookmark for her with their names and the date of the wedding. The rest I used the petals as potpourri, storing them in a small brass box with punched hole designs for ventilation.
